Google Maps has made navigation so easy that it’s become an essential tool for getting around town (and is hilariously explored in pop culture).
Finding almost any address is as easy as typing it into the search box, but sometimes that doesn’t work.

If the location you’re trying to reach doesn’t have an address or the address is incorrect, you may want to mark the pin on the map instead. Also, if you don’t know the exact address, you might want to pin it to the general area.
The process for dropping a pin in the Google Maps mobile app is the same regardless of which phone you’re using.
2. Find the place on the map where you want to pin and zoom in far enough to see it clearly.
3. Touch and hold where you want to drop the pin until you see the pin under your finger.

3. Click where you want to drop the pin. You’ll see a small gray pin and an information box appear at the bottom of the screen.
Now it’s time to use the battery. When you click the blue navigation icon in the info box, Google Maps will open the navigation page. You can enter your starting point and get driving directions. Additionally, you can click elsewhere in the information box to display a pane with more information about the selected location. Here, you can click the Save icon to add the location to My Places so you can quickly navigate to it in the future.
Remember that you can only drop one pin at a time on Google Maps; When you tap or tap a second time, the new pin replaces the old pin. And to save pins to your places, you must sign in to your Google account.

Fix A Missing Address Or Wrong Pin Location
To drop a pin on your computer: Step 1: Open your favorite browser and go to Google Maps.
Enter a more specific location in the “Search on Google Maps” field so you can narrow your search area.

Once you’ve moved in, select the location you want to push. Right-click and select “Directions here” from the drop-down menu that appears.

If you want to remove a pin from Google Maps, right-click on the pin and select “Remove this destination”. Phew, it’s gone.
Adding a pin to your iPhone is extremely easy. Just open the Google Maps app and navigate to the general area where you are/want to go.
Zoom in like we did above until you see the place you want to pinch. Then just press and hold on the screen until that little red pin drops:
